You'll find, as you go deeper down this particular rabbit hole, that guns cause friends...not crime. - Me

It's Black. It's Tactical.

And it's an old reliable design. My contribution to the Ebil Black Rifle class.

I present to you the Ruger Mini-14 Tactical Tacticool.

Yep, that is on my "Do Want" short list - had one with traditional furniture back in the mid-80's and like a big dummy sold it when I was short on cash. Now they are not but about three times as expensive...oh well.

And still half the price of a good quality AR. I know, I looked at them too. Still want one but that will be awhile.

Was concerned when I first started looking into the Mini and saw they had accuracy issues. Did somemore checking and found Ruger retooled for the newer production some years ago and seem to have solved that. Acording to the serial number on mine its a late '09 early '10 model so it's fresh from the factory.

AR is on my list too - what flavor are you drooling over? My son has a RRA LAR-15, but I can't make up my mind...

I haven't been able to select a specific set up cause I like all of em I've seen from several manufacturers. I'm leaning more toward a lightwieght carbine over a full rifle or HB tack driver cause of the mobility factor though. I already have rifles that can shoot gallon milk jugs at 300 yds, (see header), so another one in a smaller caliber is a moot point. But I don't have one yet that I would call a house gun. :)
